“Raoul Renaud made his very first hand soap whilst working as a merchant in Saint-Brieuc, France. Soon after, he presented the soap at the exhibition fair in Brest and won first prize, creating the Briochin brand’s very first product.”
“Guy and Roger Brunel were brothers. Guy had studied chemistry, whilst Roger had taken up business studies. In the aftermath of the Second World War, they set about manufacturing wood care wax. Local and regional DIY stores became the first distribution channel for Starwax wood waxes. Today, more than 350,000 wood wax items are sold under the Starwax brand.”
“After a trip to Kenya, the Brunel brothers set out on a mission to develop a new range of insecticides. They came across plant-based pyrethrin, a natural insecticide, and selected it as the main ingredient. The pyrethrum plant measures over 40cm in length and is grown for its flowers which are dried to extract their beneficial properties. The launch of this product would constitute the first specialist range of insecticides made with plant-based pyrethrin.”
